National Institute of Design

With many an accolade and remarkable feats to its credit, NID epitomizes itself as a Centre of Excellence with significant national and international awards for excellence in the field of design since its inception in 1961, as an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Industries & Commerce, Government of India.Recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India; NID has been a catalyst for design in diverse sectors and has successfully inculcated the essence of design within young graduates, known for their path breaking creations in various fields of design.

 

NID's Design Research & Development Campus:

India 's First R & D Campus is a major initiative of NID to achieve Design leadership in India by making “Designed in India ”, a powerful positioning in the global arena through original research and innovations. The emphasis is on “Design for Majority”, digital design, e-learning, e-health and design for product innovation.

The R & D Campus will be a platform for Design Research exploring user-centric aspects, ergonomics, brands and graphics, materials and process, methodologies and approaches etc.
